The Deputy County boss for Kisii H.E Joash Maangi found himself on the wrong side of the law. This is after he got summoned over what was alleged as an assault over his female domestic worker.

As reported by the police, the alleged abuse took place in December 2019 at the rural home of the accused in Bomachoge Chache.

The accused walked himself to Kisii police station, obeying a summon by the police commander Jebel Munene. Joash reportedly recorded a statement after the woman had brought up complaints about the same.

The accused has attributed his woes to his continued opposition for Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) campaigns. He even branded the allegations as politically fueled in attempts to destroy his reputation.

"I am being fought because of my political stand and the fight against corruption," stated DG Maangi. He [Joash Maangi] stood his ground on Monday, pledging that no sort of intimidation would discourage him from his political journey.

He added that he was a citizen who obeyed the law and was geared towards obeying all summons as ordered.
