A car that was reportedly ferrying bhang burst into flames after it collided with a fuel tanker. The accident occurred along Mombasa Road in Mtito Andei, Makueni County Monday evening.

The driver reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mtito Andei Health facility.

The Police Sub-County Commander for Kibwezi Ben Changulo, while confirming the incident, said that the car was ferrying bhang of unknown value.

The car lost control before hitting a fuel tanker, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

"The driver of the motor vehicle KCA 783R James Ochieng Ombok sustained fractures on both legs and cuts on the head and was rescued before the vehicle burst into flames and burned into a shell. He was rushed to Mtito Andei Health centre for treatment," reported Mr. Changulo.

Due to the hard impact of the initial collision, the car also hit another truck. Police towed the three vehicles to Mtito Andei Police Station.

The law enforcers also gathered together some bhang, which was not burnt and planned to use it as an exhibit in court against the driver's car.
