Mr. Harry Gakinya, Nakuru-based lawyer, will have to undergo a mental check-up before taking a plea as directed by the court.
Detectives from the Directorate of
Criminal Investigations went after Mr. Gakinya on Friday after having been
drawn in the Belgian nationality, Ms. Dysseleer Lesoipa's murder case.
The accused is set to appear in
court on March 11, to establish whether the medical test has been undertaken.
Ms. Dyseleer Lesoipa, the Belgian
woman at the centre of interest, was initially married to a Samburu dancer. The
duo lived together until their divorce in 2003. Lesoipa reportedly vanished
from her Milimani home, Nakuru County, in June 2019.
Following investigations, Lesoipa's
close friend Ms. Lucy Waithera got nabbed. She [Waithera] reportedly contracted
Mr. Gakinya in attempts to file a succession dispute before Nakuru High Court.
Mr. Gakinya reportedly indicated in
the case, that Ms. Lesoipa had died of HIV/AIDS, and had left behind a will
naming him as her over Sh100 million worth estate's executor.
