One person died while three others were injured in a road accident involving a Toyota probox and a truck along Migori- Isbania road.
According to Suna West OCPD Wilson Ndwato, the car that was heading to Isbania rammed into a truck that was coming from the opposite direction.
The Saturday night accident led to the death of the Toyota probox driver, while three of his passengers who survived with injuries are receiving treatment at Akidiva Memorial Hospital in Suna West sub-County.
“The vehicle had four occupants. We have launched investigations to establish the root cause of the accident,” said Ndwato.
The survivors were identified as William Mwita, 23, Jackson Magesa, 26, and Samuel Mangera, 43.
“We were two in the vehicle when we left Migori town. At Namba junction, two gentlemen boarded the vehicle and just a few metres from the stage, the vehicle was involved in an accident and I found myself at the hospital,” Mwita narrated.
The two vehicles were towed to Migori Police Station.
Police are hunting for the truck driver who is alleged to have escaped to avoid being assaulted by members of the public.
The body of the deceased has been reserved at Akidiva memorial hospital mortuary.
