It was not the first time - Man assaulted by Chinese boss speaks

Simon Oseko, a victim of assault as was seen in a video that went viral on Sunday, February 9, 2020, gave his account on his ordeals under his cruel employer.

The victim narrated that the assault seen in the video was only one of the many times similar incidents took place at the hotel.

In his account, Oseko narrated that he had to give in to the mistreatment because he needed to keep his job.

He explained that he questioned the caning but the man unleashing his wrath on him, as seen in the video, told him his job depended on it.

“I asked him why he was caning me and he bluntly asked me whether I wanted to continue working at the place” said Oseko.

Oseko further explained that the cane was a special one that was made and kept specifically to discipline workers.

He said that the pain he felt after the beating was so much that he could not sit.

"He gave me two strokes. It was so painful because I could not sit down,"

He added that the punishment he received was because he arrived late at work and had to be beaten before he started working.

In his account, he blamed unemployment in the country and stated that his former colleagues at the hotel were afraid to speak on the mistreatment they receive from their seniors.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on the same day announced that the suspect was arrested and was in lawful custody.
