Central Kenya MPs to blame for farmers' tribulations

MPs from Mount Kenya region allied to the Tangatanga camp have been driving the narrative that President Uhuru Kenyatta is to blame for the problems facing coffee, tea and milk farmers in his home turf.

The campaign, which is meant to incite the Kikuyu to abandon Uhuru, picked up after the President entered into a unity pact with Raila Odinga.

Uhuru is undoubtedly committed to leaving the country in the hands of people who will steer it to greater heights of prosperity and success.

Any MP worth their salt should be able to draft a Bill to address the plight of constituents and lobby member to pass it.

It is also worth noting that the president does not make the laws. The Executive arm that Uhuru heads can only write proposals and present them to Parliament.

The MPs also approve and allocate public funds for the implementation of development projects across the country.

This is yet to happen in central Kenya. Instead, we only hear detractors shouting from the rooftops that the president has abandoned his people.
