A group of youth accompanying Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau caused a ruckus yesterday during a church harambee presided over by nominated MP Maina Kamanda.
“This is a church and must be respected,” Mr Kamanda lambasted Ms Gitau.
Kamanda quickly concluded the session for donations and led those accompanying him to storm out of the church as soon as the woman representative arrived for the fund raiser for AIC Kiandege in Ndaragwa Sub-county.
Two months ago, Kamanda faced a similar scenario when Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru stormed another church where he was chief guest in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.
The Kiandege AIC pastor, Rev Samuel Gachango, later apologised to Gitau saying the incident was unfortunate.
Gitau blamed the incident on people from outside the county saying, "when you see a person throwing insults here, just know that person is not from Nyandarua”.
Before Gitau's arrival, Kamanda and other leaders accompanying him told Nyandarua County government to stop blaming the national government for poor producer prices since agriculture was a devolved function.
Kamanda dispelled rumours that he was eyeing a political seat in Nyandarua.
He was accompanied by Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny and chairman of Kenya Investment Authority Denis Waweru.
