A family is in distress after their daughter went missing in Saudi Arabia where she was taken by a local recruitment agency based in Nairobi.

Miriam Wanjiru Kabugo, 25 was taken to the Arabian country by Anyiro Agency based in Kitamu House, along Tubman Road without parent’s consent. Barely a month later she went missing and the agency’s management has gone mute.

Her father David Kabugo says he has been frustrated by the agency since they informed him Wanjiru was missing on October 19.

“She was lured to the offer and left Kenya on September 20. She posted photo of her aboard the flight. I had opposed her going there but a lady identified as Rosemary lured her to her house, accommodated her before she left for abroad,” Kabugo says.

Rosemary Njuguna is listed as the director of the agency. Ms Njunguna and a man identified as Kimani were behind the scheme.

Rosemary and Kimani have declined to respond to texts and calls from The Standard over the matter. They have also gone cold on the distressed family.

“Wanjiru called her mother when she reached there then suddenly she was unreachable. Kimani called saying she was planning to get a phone to keep in touch with us. Then days later he called saying she was missing,” Kabugo laments.

Adding; “He downplayed the matter claiming she was cheated by friends to run away but when it became serious, Rosemary and Kimani blocked my phone number and up-to-date they have not responded to me.”
