Two men have been accused of mimicking Asians businessmen for financial gain have been detained for seven days as ordered by court to allow completion of investigation.
The suspects, Josphat Jimmy Thuo (Raju) and Elias Makanda Kiema were said to be arrested following several complaints from people that the two have have been involved in series of obtaining money by false pretence.
Appearing before Honorable Nyaga, detective Daniel Mumbua told court that the two have been mimicking an Asian accent to win unsuspecting clients from various counties including police officer and they are likely to be charged on several counts since complaints are more than ten.
“Accused persons were also found in possession of narcotic plant material whose certificate of weighing is yet to be obtained” partly reads affidavit.
“I am yet to obtain call data, M-Pesa transactions for the past 8months, record statement from various complainants, conduct identification parade because one of the complainant is a police officer who has been admitted at Nairobi Women Hospital with a fractured leg and is yet to record statement” says the officer.
