Sonko threatens to expose deadbeat politicians, differs with Millie Odhiambo

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has given out two telephone numbers where women can report and expose deadbeat politicians, just days after the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth burial row over a secret family.

Sonko told victims of politicians and businessmen to share the full names, photos and videos of their happy moments to the numbers so that they can be exposed.

“From today all great women of this country, if there is an MP, Senator, Governor, civil servant or businessman who has impregnated you and denied responsibility send me their details we expose him and seek DNA tests when he’s still alive,” he posted.

Sonko also told off Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo after the two accused him of lacking respect when he went public about the late Kibra MP secret affair with one of the nominated Nairobi MCA.

“Sonko Mike, that was so low of you, just to get Bonga points. It's good to respect families. I wonder how many children you have out there yourself,” stated Mwaura, yesterday.

Sonko told the two legislators to avoid hypocrisy, arguing that their utterances implied that they supported actions of deadbeat fathers.

The governor dismissed the two leaders for claiming he was seeking political mileage when he disclosed that the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s had a secret family with a nominated MCA.

“If speaking the truth is what you call political Bonga points, let it be. This habit we leaders have of having extramarital affairs and once the women are pregnant we disown them must come must stop,” Sonko posted.

Sonko said the two lacked the moral authority to lecture anyone on family matters based on their family squabbles and character.

He criticised male leaders who fail to use protection to prevent ‘unwanted pregnancies.’

“Why leave an innocent angel of God suffering? If you can’t use protection, then stick to your wife at home,” he posed.

The governor even dared any woman with his kid to come out and declare it, saying he was ready to even expose himself.

Kenyans mostly women supported the Nairobi governor most of them, saying they were in the process of compiling evidence before exposing them.

“Yes everyone got the message and we are busy compiling, said Joyce Mayor.

“Deadbeat’s days are numbered. They have to come out before they find their videos and photos all over,” another one said.

Millie fights back

However, the war seemed inextinguishable as Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo hit back with a lengthy lecture for Governor Sonko.

She told Sonko she was not just making comments in funerals but was serving girls through lawmaking in the parliament and as a lawyer.

She stated: “My good friend and young brother Sonko, let me tell you something, I am a lawyer- an intellectual if you may, who is also happily a pig while in politics. Unlike you, I do not just yap at funerals. I pass laws that protect all children including children who are like Ken Okoth's son.”

“Go to the Hansard. You will find that I, Wakili Millie Odhiambo, pushed for Article 53 of the Constitution that protects Ken Okoth's son. Once the DNA confirms that he is Ken Okoth's son, he will be entitled under the succession law, to inherit from Ken's estate. He is protected. He is covered,” added the MP.

Odhiambo told Sonko that she had enough experience under her belt after taking  men to court for child neglect.

“I founded a child rights organization that has taken many parents (including dead beat fathers) to court to force them to take care of their children. I do not need to shout it at funerals,” she said.
