A primary school deputy headteacher was on Monday charged with defiling three minors.
Dan Mathews Odhiambo of Arombo Primary School in Nyando, Kisumu County yesterday appeared before Nyando Senior Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo where he denied the charges.
He was charged with defiling the girls, two from the same school while the other from a different school, late last year and early this year.
Odhiambo, first denied defiling a 15-year-old minor on diverse dates in October 2018 inside the premises of a primary school of Kochieng’ East sub location in Nyando subcounty.
He subsequently denied defiling the second minor aged, 15, on diverse dates in January 2019 at the same school.
He maintained the same plea of 'not guilty' when the charge of defiling yet another 14-year-old on June 8, 2019 at a primary school in Kondele location, Kisumu Central subcounty was read.
The plea-taking was deferred last week after the investigating officer asked for additional days to complete investigations, he was granted five days.
The prosecutor, Wycliffe Kwendo said he had a tight case against the teacher and has lined up witnesses including teachers, parents and village administrators to argue out for the justice of the girls.
Odhiambo was remanded at Kodiaga Prison after he failed to pay Sh200,000 bond for each of the three charges.
The cases will be mentioned on July 12 and heard on October 16.
