The Nandi administration has held a crisis meeting to deliberate on actions to take against county officials arrested over theft of construction materials.

The nine include Education Chief Officer David Sang, ECD Director Julius Too, ECD Project Manager Eliud Mosbei and Procurement Officer Joseah Kogo, who were apprehended last week over missing supplies meant to construct 60 ECD centres.

Comprehensive statement

Two more officials, including Education County Executive Committee Member Valentine Chumo, have recorded statements at the Nandi Central police station over theft of the construction materials, bringing to 11 the number of officers who are being investigated over the matter.

Governor Stephen Sang, who is planning to issue a comprehensive statement today on the Sh234 million ECD centres construction material scam, said the process to arrest county officials was initiated by his government.

Sang said his administration wrote to the DCI.
