Sasini appoints Martin R Ochien'g as managing director

Sasini Tea and coffee processing company has appointed Martin R Ochien'g as its managing director effective March 1, 2019.

The former board chair Stephen Maina Githiga stepped down in November 2018 and chose not to renew his two-year contract.

Mr. Ochien'g is a Bachelor of Science degree holder from Moi University, a Degree holder in Strategic Marketing and Management and a Masters of Business Administration graduate from Oxford Brookes University, England.

With 25 years of experience spanning across various institutions in international trade and business management and leadership industry, Mr Ochien'g has worked for 3M Healthcare in Western Kenya, Eastern Uganda and North-Western Tanzania regions and Pfizer South Africa as Sub-Sagaran Africa Head of Marketing and Warner Lambert.

Since Maina’s resignation in November, 2018, Samuel Kanga Odalo- Group Financial Officer has been acting as the Managing Director for the group.

The new managing director has been the Head of Global Marketing at KWV International, Middle East at Tyco International, Marketing and Strategy Director for Africa, GHM South Africa’s Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director for EMEA at Tyco Commercial Services and SGA Security Kenya’s MD.

At the moment Ochieng is a board member of the Maseno Alumni Investments Limited as well as chairs its Corporate Governance Committee.
