Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi has called for unity in the county after the Supreme Court on Thursday declared him validly elected.
Speaking at a thanks giving event at Arabian Cuisine in Nairobi Abdi extend and olive branch to former Governor Ahmed Abdullahi saying Wajir needs a united front to prosper instead divided political class on each other's neck.
Mr Abdullahi and PDR Gubernatorial aspirant Ahmed Muhumed had challenged the election of Wajir governor in 2017 claiming that he did not have a degree and therefore not elegible for the position.
"I call upon every Wajir residents including my competitors to join hands with me and build our county, we want to be lobby for mega projects from health sector, infrastructure boost to boost our region," said Abdi.
He added; "In that spirit I welcome my brothers Ahmed Abdullahi and Ahmed Muhumed to chip in at their own capacity."
The governor promised that his administration will not discriminate any region or personalities saying inclusivity and compassion is his leadership mantra.
The event that was graced by almost entire Wajir leadership had unity message echoed by a speaker after speaker with former Normonated Senator Halima Abdille saying Governor Mohamed should be giving space to work and deliver his campaign agendas and called on the governor to Women Empowerment.
Governor Amb Mohamed Abdi was on bottle neck court case that the former Governor won two battles only for him to pull a comeback at the apex of the courts Supreme Court throwing away eligibility on academic grounds.
The event was graced by Deputy governor Ahmed Werar, Wajir East MP Rashid Kassim, South MP Dr Omaar Mohamud, former Wajir South MP Abdullahi Diriye, Former senator Abdirahman Olow, Wajir County Government Chief of staff Siyad Osman and many other leaders.
Abdi has committed a staggering 750 Million on ward based projects saying he wants resources to trickle down to the grassroot as residents to do decisions at the grassroots on projects of their choosings.
The elders headed by Mzee Entalow and Noor Dimbil said the looming court battle have wasted time needed for service delivery as a lot of gap yet to be filled and lampooned individuals who are hellbent to divisive talks waylaying the developmental and transformational agenda of governor Amb Mohamed Abdi.
The road map of "Handshake" from the two parties om the court battles to offshoot soonest and casecade to functions in Wajir town to dust down political tentions and avert disunity among the peace loving Wajir residents who are known of astute peacemaking and tranquility.
Amb Mohamed Abdi said he is poised to reduce water tracking for over 154 settlements by drilling more boreholes, reduce maternal mortality deaths open Wajir to sister counties by improving roads and connect the world through Wajir International Airport .
Eldas MP Aden Keinan Wajir residents should torn down subjective critism and use social media platform to help Wajir County rather than soiling it.
"We want to put Wajir to greater level and that we start by extending a handshake to our brothers Ahmed Abdullahi and Ahmed Muhumed they were worthy competitors and reasonable fellas", he added.
