Four children in the family of the late Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa yesterday dismissed Derrick Mboya as a stranger with no rights to the estate left behind by their father.
They said in a statement read by Ms Alice Muthoni Wamalwa(second born) that Mboya, who accompanied Wamalwa’s last born daughter Michelle Wamalwa “Chichi” in a television interview flaunting isolation was “neither a beneficiary nor an authorised person to speak on our behalf”.
They said Michelle was squarely within the family estate, describing her teaming with Mr Mboya for a television interview on a matter currently before court, as shocking.
“We were in the process of finalising the distribution of our late father’s estate by the time my step-mother, Yvonne Nambia Wamalwa, passed on but were unable to agree on all issues pertaining to the fair and equitable distribution of the estate, necessitating judicial intervention in the matter," said Alice.
“Yvonne and I were appointed the joint administrators of the estate on behalf of the late Vice President’s five children who are the legal beneficiaries,” stated Alice.
She was accompanied by William Wamalwa (Big), the third born, and William Wamalwa (small), the fourth born, during a press conference at a Nairobi hotel. The press statement also bore the signature of Jacob Jabali Ravn Wamalwa, Wamalwa’s eldest child who lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Michelle sensationally claimed in a TV appearance on Friday night that she had dropped out of school in Australia for lack of school fees.
She claimed to have been neglected by the family. Mr Mboya claimed an influential personality in Government who hails from the family had played ball in their isolation.
