Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed on Tuesday alleged that Sharon Otieno’s killers are planning to assassinate him.
Through his official Twitter page, the legislator alerted the DCI of the claims and said he is not afraid of death.
‘Sharon killers are planning to assassinate me and I got your threats ... A Muslim does not fear death. @DCI_Kenya @RailaOdinga,’ he wrote.
Sharon, who was a student at Rongo University, was found dead at Kodero Forest in September.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his personal assistant Michael Oyamo were the main suspects in the case and were arrested in connection with the murder.
Obado was however released on bail after spending 33 days in remand.
The co-accused persons Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero were denied bail with the judge saying that there is a likelihood that the two would interfere with investigations.
Responding to Junet Mohamed’s post, State House Secretary of Digital Communication Dennis Itumbi advised the legislator to get an OB from police.
‘Pole sana my friend. Pray that you remain safe. A tweet is good, but an OB Number is better.
‘Just in case you do not know how to get an OB number, walk to the nearest police station and they will record and investigate and hey you can ask the media to accompany you,’ wrote Itumbi.
However, Itumbi’s response did not go down well with a section of Kenyans who accused him of political bias.
