ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed teams the Government has formed to investigate what is ailing the sugar and maize sub-sectors.

Mudavadi, who spoke in Kakamega Town yesterday, accused the Government of lacking commitment in reviving production of the two crops.

"The Government has been forming teams over and over again yet their findings are never made public and their recommendations ignored. We don’t have faith in the new task forces on sugar and maize,” Mudavadi said.

The sugar task force is being chaired by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri.

That of maize is being headed by Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba and his Uasin Gishu counterpart Jackson Mandago together with Mr Kiunjuri.

“The task forces will not end the crises. We want Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate and point out cartels that led to the collapse of the sectors and have them prosecuted,” Mudavadi said.
