A chopper carrying Lugari MP Ayub Savula and three other people has made an emergency landing at Soysambu area, near Lake nakuru national park.
The Chopper that was heading to Nairobi from Kakamega was forced to make an emergency landing following bad weather, as it was raining.
Savula together with his board guard, West Kabras MCA had attended two fundraising events in Kakamega before boarding the flight to Nairobi.
"I together with pilot and two other people were headed to Nairobi after attending fundraising function at Musembe Catholic Church in Lugari and another at Anglican Church in Kakamega before boarding the chopper, " the MP has told The Standard.
Savula said the journey was smooth but on reaching Nakuru, it was cloudy and that they could not continue.
He said the pilot was therefore forced to make an emergency landing for safety.
"The pilot tried to make moves for more than 10 min unsuccessfully because of cloudy weather,” he said.
However, the MP tried to call the security chiefs from Western to link them to their Nakuru Counterparts, but it took them more than three and half hours before being traced.
"Weather turned cloudy at around 5pm but the landing was at around 8.30pm. I am however grateful we are all safe, “he said.
Gilgil Ocpd Sarah Koki has said police officers were sent at the scene if incident to get more details.
"I am aware about the emergency landing at Soysambu area. Officers have rushed at the scene to get more details,” said the Ocpd.
