National Resistance Movement self-proclaimed general Miguna Miguna arrived back into the country from Canada on Monday 26 after his seven-week long deportation. Miguna who arrived at 2: 30 pm on Emirates flight EK19 was deported on February 6 after taking part in the swearing-in of National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga as the People’s President.
Since then, the fiery lawyer Membarkediguna embarked on a rigorous drive to meet Kenyans in the diaspora, discussing various issues with them including dual citizenship, while also promising to pursue the struggle to fight electoral injustice in the country.
The High Court through Justice Chacha Mwita on Febraury 26 ordered his return to Kenya and suspended the State's declaration that he was a prohibited immigrant. The ‘general’ has since talked of coming back home.
Miguna’s return evoked reactions both from critics and supporters with equal measure. Here are some of their comments on Twitter;
Welcome home General Miguna Miguna, you hold the hopes of many of us who are yet to arrive in Cannan. #MigunaReturns
