Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Sunday, March 25 sent an ultimatum to President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga in regards to Eurobond.
Speaking in Nandi County at the homecoming of Kiptuya Ward MCA, Jack Kevowe, Mr. Khalwale, who is Ford Kenya’s deputy leader asked the two leaders to shine a light on where money from Eurobond went as only part of it reached the Central Bank.
“Please Uhuru and Raila talk about national issues; don’t talk about your families alone. Now that you are with Raila, I would like you to tell Kenyans by tomorrow [today], the money that arrived in the country is less by Sh 40 billion, tell us where the other money is. .. Is that the reason Uhuru welcomed Raila so that they plan how to steal money from Kenyans. Tell us,” He said amid cheers.
His remarks came weeks after the two leaders shook hands on March 9 agreeing to work towards the interest of the country.
Talking about 2022 politics, Mr. Khalwale asked Deputy President William Ruto to drop his presidential bid and support Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi. He claimed the DP is young and he should support Mudavadi so he can be his deputy.
“We, as the Luhyas, stood with Moi for 24 years. Ruto, you’re still a young man, Mudavadi is your senior; support him for the presidency and become his deputy. God’s time is the best time,” the former senator continued.
