President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga have finally agreed on one thing since the beginning of the year. This comes after a year of political tension in 2017 due to the general elections.
The Opposition leader and President Uhuru agreed that Michael Olunga is the first Kenyan to score in the Spanish La Liga and the first to score a hattrick for Girona FC.
Posting on his Twitter handle, NASA leader Raila was the first to congratulate Mr.Olunga on his exemplary performance during the match.
“Congratulations to Kenyan born Michael Olunga on becoming the first @GironaFC player to score a hat-trick in the Spanish #LaLigaSantander,” he posted.
“Today's accomplishment by @OgadaOlunga will serve as an inspiration to all our young people and we are very proud of him. Well done Olunga,” he continued.

President Uhuru Kenyatta later followed suit and congratulated the footballer for making history in which Olunga responded by saying “thanks a lot, I appreciate.”
“Congratulations Michael @OgadaOlunga for making history as the first Kenyan footballer to score a goal in the @LaLiga; and the first player to score a hattrick for @GironaFC in the Spanish top league. Continue flying the #MagicalKenya flag high,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

Kenyans on Twitter, however, found humour in both leaders’ tweets with some saying that Monday (15th January) should be made a public holiday in honour of the footballer.
Others tweeted that Raila is the true ’president’ as he was the first to recognize Olunga’s victory compared to President Uhuru whose tweet came hours after Mr.Odinga’s message.
