President Uhuru Kenyatta and his allies seemed to have been cornered by the Supreme Court ruling that nullified his August presidential election. He has thrown tantrums, and called people names without really understanding the reasons the judges relied on to declare the elections null, and void. The most outrageous of all has been his assertion that should Raila Odinga be elected president in the re-run, then Jubilee dominated parliaments will impeach him within two, three months.

Uhuru forgets to grasp one thing, if the majority of the voting public believe someone is unfit for office, that person by definition can't win an election to that office. Therefore if Raila is the choice of the electorate, he can’t be impeached on the grounds not stipulated in the constitution.
According to Kenya's constitution a sitting president can be removed if he is deemed to be physically or mentally unfit to perform the functions of the office.
The other routes to impeach the president are on the grounds of gross violation of the constitution, or if it is believed that the president has committed a crime under national or international law, or if he/she is accused of gross misconduct. To initiate the process, the impeachment motion will have to get the support of at least two-thirds of all the members of the National Assembly, which Jubilee Party does not have.

Kenya’s political arena is usually an interesting field to watch. As soon as an individual is declared President elect; tribal kingpins with their delegations visit the president to beg to have a share of the piece of cake in return for their support. If Raila is elected, expect such people to troop in their hundreds to the house on the hill. This means that even MPs elected on jubilee ticket especially from Kamba and Luhya nation may switch their allegiance.
Finally a defeated Jubilee party will be thrown into some disarray. The ambitions of one William Ruto will be brought to a halt, and consequently the confusion that will ensue will sent shockwaves across the country. There will be greater realignments with the biggest taking place in the Rift Valley and Central the back yards of Ruto and Uhuru.Ruto may decide to hold on Rift valley with a firm grip hoping that he will resuscitate his political life in 2022.
With Jubilee defeated, President Raila will galvanize support from across the political divide and hopefully serve his full term. It will not be a walk in the park to bring the enigma of Kenyan politics down.
