As the Supreme Court judges prepare to make the much-awaited presidential petition ruling today, whichever way the honorable judges decide, one thing is for sure - our national politics will never be the same again. If the Supreme Court rules against Raila Odinga, this will ultimately be the end of him, politically. It is unimaginable to think of Kenyan politics without Agwambo, as Raila is commonly called. Whether you like him or not, Raila has been the fulcrum of Kenyan politics. In a nutshell, Kenyan politics rotates around Agwambo.

Whenever he coughs, Kenya catches a flu. This much-anticipated 'mother of all rulings' will inevitably be a game changer - politically, economically, socially, diplomatically, and even militarily. More importantly, the overall ramifications will, indeed, be felt not only in Kenya but across the world.

If the Supreme Court rules against President Uhuru Kenyatta, then, for the first time since independence, Kenya will hold a repeat presidential election. Africa and the world at large are focusing on this presidential election ruling as the stakes are indeed high. Also, the jurisprudence, philosophy, and depth of the ruling will be vigorously interrogated by law scholars, academicians, and other key stakeholders. As expected, the foreign press will be expecting mayhem and chaos. We must rise to the occasion and shame the foreign press by remaining calm and peaceful whichever manner the Supreme Court rules.

This is our motherland and we have no other country. Kenyans must accept the verdict with decorum and restraint, although, to be honest, it will cause a 'political earthquake'.
