Nairobi County’s incoming governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko took up the expense for his inauguration ceremony set to be held at Uhuru Park off the taxpayers’ shoulders despite having invited top notch East African artists.
The Sonko alongside his deputy Polycarp Igathe have invited members of the public to the celebrations stating that the function is not sponsored by Nairobi County government.
The invite also states that the devolution ministry shall not fund the event activities and that it is a personal initiative by Mike Sonko likening it to the ongoing city cleanup program run by the Sonko Rescue team.
Among the celebrities in the entertainment industry expected to grace the event are;
Ben Githae.
He is a gospel singer who recently released a Uhuruto anthem, Ndani Tena, in a bid to counter NASA’s much-celebrated ohangla hit song-Tibim.

Mr Nice; He is the Tanzanian Kioo and Fagilia hit maker who once received an unfriendly welcoming to the city when a youthful gang robbed him at Jericho estate in Nairobi.
Sauti Sol
The superb afro-pop band is also expected to perform at the celebrations, that are now seemingly out to capture largely a youthful audience, most of whom will be away from work.
