Powerful forces could be working for thr removal of CS over his medling in Mt Kenya politics

A powerful cabinet secretary is not sitting easy after the polls. During the campaigns, the CS who has shelved his political ambitions was accused of fielding his own candidate in a county in Mt. Kenya. The reasoning behind the CS decision was that come 2022 he would have an weaker candidate to run against.

His gamble spectacular fell after his choice was rejected by the voters. Now there is talk that there are some forces working towards his removal from the cabinet. If this was to happen, the CS will be left in political wilderness for four years as he waits for the candidate he worked against to complete his term hoping that the burden of incumbency will weigh him down and make him an easier target to beat.

This happens as many remain in shock as apparently it is only in politics where one can celebrate even after losing. We are learning that two prominent Western Kenya politicians are ecstatic even after they were walloped during the general elections.

Their source of joy and consolation is that they lost their seat for going against the grain by campaigning for presidential candidates who were unpopular in their region. Now that their side has won, the politicians feel that they stand a better chance of being rewarded especially after delivering several parliamentary seats. The two are now hopefully waiting for the next government to be formed where they expect to be given plum positions.
