Gubernatorial seat aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has alluded to confidence in winning the Machakos county governor's seat on August 8. 

Wavinya during an interview on KTN News on Saturday said she has not had sleepless nights despite the hurdles she has fought on her candidature for the post held by Govenor Alfred Mutua. 

"I will be Machakos governor after the August elections" she said.

On Friday, Ms Wavinya won in a case that was seeking revocation of her nomination by Wiper party for the seat and she accuses her competitors of fixing her in legal battles under the influence of the Governor Mutua led county government.

IEBC had earlier in revoked her nomination by Wiper party after sections of the party leaders moved argued that she had bagged the party ticket despite having failed to resign from her former party within the timelines but she moved to court

On Friday, the Court of Appeal in Nairobi quashed an appeal challenging the High Court’s decision that allowed her to run for the seat, a ruling that came with relieve to the candidate.

It is the earlier Justice George Odunga court order to IEBC to include Ndeti’s name as the Wiper candidate for the Machakos contest that saw her excitedly urge her supporters to forget about what they had been taken through in a Swahili phrase that became a social media sensation.

Ndeti said "Nwele Sipite.." , and this was viral but she termed it as a good way of having displayed the 'Ukamba' in her through direct translation.

She did not shy away from unleashing it yet again during the interview, urging her supporters to stay put as "Pole pole ndio mwendo," so delightedly she said.

"I have more votes now than in 2013. People should not forget that i vied for the post earlier on.When serving as MP, I reduced wastage of taxpayers' money at the now Mavoko constituency and I will do this again as a governor," she said.

She has challenged governor Alfred Mutua to declare his wealth for the period before his rise to the county top office and what he has obtained since 2013, accusing the Governor of embezzlement of public resources.

" His money is not a threat. We will take the money and 'eat' the money. This is what people are saying because it is our money," said Wavinya.

She said despite having made overwhelming promises to the people like the pledge to export green grams, give solar panels to all homes, the governor failed to deliver fr the period he had been in office.
