On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his team visited some parts of Nyanza region known as Raila Odinga's stronghold. The President was there to not only launch some government projects in counties like Kisumu and Homabay, but also campaign for his re-election come August 8th 2017.
The maturity exhibited by the people of Nyanza was outstanding as most people thought of the worst in the Presidential tour in Nyanza. The President and his team received an awesome reception except William Ruto. The luo's might have been marginalised in the previous regimes but not under Uhuru and Ruto's regime, since they have ensured that all the people in Kenya get equal distribution of resources irrespective of where they come from.
On Wednesday the President commissioned a bridge connecting Mbita town to Rusinga Island constructed at a cost of Sh1 billion. In addition, he promised that the Government will construct more roads in Homabay County, including the Rusinga Island ring road and Mfangano road.
People are ready for politics of development and not just giving promises for the sake of getting votes. It is up to the people to decide on the kind of leadership they want.
