Confusion as 'Cameraman' claims he was also on plane that crashed injurying RMS Journalists on Wednesday

A plane carrying journalists to a political rally crashed in Langata, Nairobi near the Southern Bypass area.

The cause of the accident is yet to be established even though the aircraft owners had been reported having said that the plane was in perfect condition and had been serviced.

The media house through its online platform reported that the aircraft registration 5Y-PEB left Wilson at a recorded 1347 hours carrying Citizen TV reporter Sam Ogina, Cameraman Mauritius Oduor and Radio Citizen’s Joseph Njane all heading to a National Super Alliance (NASA) rally in Baringo.

The journalists were treated and discharged but the two pilots were still on medication at Nairobi Hospital with one being admitted at the intensive care unit.

The happenings before the crash remain untold but one, Peter Mutuma Kirichia claims to be a cameraman says through a post on his social media page that they had noticed the plane developed technicalities not long after they left the Airport.

He said that he was only having little pain but had together with his colleagues left Nairobi Hospital after receiving treatment.

Both president Kenyatta and NASA chief Raila Odinga wished the journalists and pilots quick recovery and highlighted the risk media operators take on their job. 

It is this post that has caused confusion with Journalists who covered the incident saying he was not on the plane that crashed on Wednesday.

He has come out to say he is sorry,and that he meant his colleagues had been injured and only realised he made a post erroneously twelve hours later after it started making rounds online.

He has since deleted the posts from his timeline.
