What made the late powerful minister, Nicholas Kipyator Biwott to survive political forces during Moi’s regime will surprise you. His right-hand men and the former local authority councilors have finally disclosed the secret.
The leaders are eulogizing the demise of Kenya’s long serving civil servant who recently lost his life after a long illness.
The leaders who worked in the former Iten-Tambach town council in the current Elgeyo Marakwet County are saying that they have not only lost a leader but their main political teacher and mentor who taught them big, hard and unknown political virtues which gave life to their political life.
Led by the former Keiyo North sub-county KANU chair Yusuf Keitany, the leaders told Ureport that the deceased is not the one many can think of as a tough person with weird character but was a man of the people who could fit any person’s shoe.
Mr. Yusuf Keitany who served with the late former Keiyo South legislature is denying the sentiments from the majority that Biwot was a man to be feared and goes further to say that he was a who respected his people.
He revealed that the humility and respect that the late Nicholas Biwott had to the elders made him scale the heights in the harsh political atmosphere in Kenya.
The sentiments were echoed by Councilor, Mathew arap Chepkurui who added that Biwott taught them why, how to respect and protect the sitting government by all means.
