After 'arrest Raila' ODM leaders now direct public prosecution office to Aden Duale over hatespeech claims

Sections of ODM party leaders have turned arrest calls directed towards their party leader back to the National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale.

Led by the NASA luminary Raila Odinga’s brother, the leaders expressed dissatisfaction and a feeling of favoritism in the manner in which the office of the director of Public Prosecution handled earlier incitement claims against Aden Duale but was quick to delve into Mr Odinga’s accusations on hate speech.

MR Oburu Odinga said earlier on the National Assembly majority leader had been accused of saying that members of the Kamba community should leave Garissa but nothing had been done to him yet he was now demanding for the arrest of Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Uriri where ODM party leaders were hosted by Migori Governot Okoth Obado and the party’s Mark Nyamita, Mr Oburu challenged the DPP’s office to first investigate Duale before they probe Raila’s case.

Governor Obado condemned the Jubilee leaders harboring the idea of arresting Mr Odinga saying they were only seeking to subdue the opposition leader through threats and intimidation.

Homabay County Women Representative said Mr Odinga was a law abiding citizen and dared the government to arrest Mr Odinga threatening that if this happens there will be no elections in August.

The leaders met recruits for the party’s adapt a polling station strategy in efforts to ensure they attained 100 percent voter turnout in the August elections.

Meanwhile the NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga rose to his defense saying he had done nothing wrong by urging Kajiado County residents not to sell their land likening it to President Uhuru’s issuance of land title deeds in Kiambu where he said the president had made similar pleas to the residents.
