Voters participating in the Jubilee Party primaries in Baringo County were forced to use photocopied ballot papers.
In 18 polling stations in Baringo North where ballot papers for parliamentary aspirants were missing, the contestants agreed to use photocopied ballot papers to ensure the process proceeded after hours of delay.
"We realised that 2,000 ballot papers were missing in one ward for parliamentary seat and after a meeting, it was agreed that photocopies be made and stamped," said Baringo County Elections Board chairman Lotolo Ruto.
Hundreds of police officers had been deployed in various polling stations to deal with any case of insecurity.
