35 year old teacher defiles a 14 year old school girl

A 35-year-old teacher at Ochock Kadongo primary school in Kisumu west Sub County was arrested and later released for lack of evidence after allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl who went to his house for tuition.

 According to the victim, the teacher told her that he was in love with her and promised never to fail her in his subjects if she agreed to have sex with him.

“He started touching me on my thighs and I pleaded with him to stop but my pleas fell on deaf ears. He told me not to be afraid and later proceeded to my private parts. I was so afraid of him because he was stronger than me and if I had tried to scream he could have killed or hurt me easily.

The teacher took my virginity away. It was so painful that I couldn’t walk. He tried to bribe me with 500 shillings and even offered to hire a motorbike to take me home. He told me I could get more goodies if I told no one about what had happened in his house.

When I got home my mother noticed I was limping and shedding tears and decided to probe deeper. At first, I was reluctant to disclose to her what had just happened but after gaining some courage I told her about what the teacher had done to me. At first, my mother couldn’t believe me because the teacher was a well-respected man in the society and no one could imagine him doing that to me.

My mother reported the matter to the area chief who came with police officers and arrested the teacher. The teacher was later released for lack of evidence and the case was closed. We later reported the matter to the district education officer and Teacher Service Commission who promised to take action. We are still waiting for them to act.

I have been judged so harshly by society. Instead of receiving support from society I have been accused of wanting to tarnish the name of the teacher. Some have called me a prostitute, a witch, evil and a fool. I have lost my friends because no one wants to associate with me. I wish people could first listen to my story before judging me with untrue and baseless information that the teacher and his supporters are spreading about me,” said the girl.
