The military strike launched on Thursday by the United States on a Syrian government airbase has brought about mixed reactions from both American and Syrian citizens.
The attack happened in response to a chemical weapons attack that killed dozens of civilians earlier in the week.
While some say that it was illegal and unconstitutional, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the strike was proportional because it was targeted at the facility that delivered the recent chemical attack. He added that it was important for some action to be taken to make clear that the use of chemical weapons continues to be a violation of international norms.
A Syrian refugee on CNN live said that what POTUS did was indeed a powerful message of hope.
President Donald Trump in his defense affirmed that Syria's use of banned chemical weapons was a clear indication of violation of its obligations under the chemical weapons convention.
The Russian government has also been blamed for failing in its responsibility to deliver on the 2013 Chemical Weapons commitment. It is said to have been either complicit or incompetent.
