Business leaders have urged policy makers to embrace a predictable tax regime in national budgeting. This, they said, would enable the business community to make sustainable plans to fuel the economy.

Speakers at a tax predictability public forum at the Strathmore Business School implored the Kenya Revenue Authority and the National Treasury to fast-track efforts geared at stabilising the local tax regime.

Kenya Association of Manufacturers Chief Executive Phyllis Wakiaga said Kenyan firms were fast losing their competitive edge to other regional companies because of the unpredictable nature of the local tax regime.
