Former Mungiki leader Maina Njega’s past has denied him yet again a crucial chance of ascending to leadership.

Njeg'a had declared his interest to vie for Laikipia Senate seat.Having done his assignment well Njenga knew that by seeking Jubilee nomination in Laikipia will place him in a better position to clinch the Laikipia senator seat.

His dream was shattered yesterday after presenting nomination papers to Jubilee party headquarters where they were rejected on the ground that he lacked integrity.

According to an unrevealed source, some key allies to President Uhuru Kenyatta are frustrating Njenga’s attempts to raise to any leadership position.

It is alleged that these people have the fear that Njenga is popular among the youths and there are high chances of the youth supporting him in large numbers.

Also, there is a general fear that if Njeg'a is allowed to vie on a Jubilee ticket, it will clearly show that claims that the Mungiki gang maybe close to some people in government is true.

Earlier on Maina Njenga who was a close ally to Raila dumped him saying that he was going to work with Jubilee Party and work hard in ensuring that President Uhuru Kenyatta is elected for a second term.

The former Mungiki leader hinted that by him coming from a county that was purported to be a Jubilee stronghold it was good for him to vie on a Jubilee ticket as per the wishes of the residents.

This move against Njeng'a gives the incumbent senator, Godfrey Gitahi Kariuki a better chance of being re-elected as the next senator of Laikipia.

The Laikipia Senator had earlier on declared that he was going to defend his seat in the August polls.
