The international online transportation network company Uber, has recently been marred by cases of sexual harassment, rough play on other taxis in America during Trump’s immigration ban and in Kenya’s case, low business rates for uber drivers leading to a strike.
The Kenya uber drivers decry the low rates in the business making their businesses unprofitable. The company which came to Kenya in 2015 reduced the rates by 50% mid-2016 in order to increase users of the service.
This did not go well with the drivers who are now on a go slow. The uber drivers are now harassing their counterparts who are not participating in the strike.
The latest incident happened on Wednesday when some drivers in Nairobi poured oil on a car belonging to one of the uber drivers and also spilled it on him.
The company is yet to act on the said strike.
