'Being married to Mr.Atwoli is not my reason for seeking votes'

Webuye west parliamentary aspirant Madam Roselinder Simiyu has asked Webuye West residents to avoid seeing her candidature as 'husband motivated'.

“In most cases, I have tried to avoid the name of my husband because many people will perceive that am leveraging my relation to Mr.Atwoli to vie,” said Simiyu.

In defence of her bid during the first parliamentary aspirants' debate held at Satelite View Hotel in Webuye, Madam Roselinder requested anybody who is interested in her potential to lead to cross check areas where she has served before including Nzoia Sugar company.

With education as her main focus, she promised to offer 100% bursary to the needy students.

“I understand the feeling of lacking fees and to sort this mess I don't think three thousand shillings would help and that is why am firm on 100% sponsorship,” she added.

However being the only woman in the race, she explained that nobody should expect special treatment and vowed to provide inclusive leadership where men, women and the disabled are equally served and represented.
