A common sense contribution on the resolve by the Commission of Higher Education to ensure quality education in our institutions here-below follows.

First, let me appreciate Dr.Matiangi's effort in ensuring KCSE exam leakage is dealt with. Though it has been a success, there should be a chance for Wilson Sossion's and any other concern to be heard.

But that has not been the case for a man who has gulped all praises to an extent of forgetting what leadership entails. I reserve my comment on this matter knowing well enough that the process must have had some shortcomings. The only difference is, that the results arouse excitement.

To my clansman Kipsang Belion. Sir, I know you are learned and experienced. I have no capacity to advise neither am I in a position to critique, but I have simple questions for you. I know of a number of people who got admission into Harambee schools due to their poor performance in K.C.P.E, yet they managed to score good marks enabling them to join universities.

Many of them have made it to the corporate world. I also know about people who began with certificate courses having performed not very well in high school, and ended up pursuing degrees.

Others went even further to attaining Ph.D.'s. There are many examples like the later, but kindly allow me ton ask some questions.

Why does it matter so much the entry grades to university? If for instance I scored grade E in K.C.S.E, is it guaranteed that I will get E's should I be given chance to join university ? And if the later is true, then does it matter being barred from pursuing a degree course ?

And if for sure it isn't guaranteed that I will fail, supposing I pass, does it then imply that there is no direct relation between high school and university syllabus? Or is it easier at degree level? And if I perform well through my university education, then what is your problem? Does my former E still matter to you?

Okay, let us take a look at it from a different perspective. You will agree with me that a child will most likely perform better in a private than in a public school.

Also, you will agree with me that should give an opportunity to a student in Kilibwoni High School to join Kapsabet Boys, then that son of the soil will definitely perform better.

What am I trying to say? That it may take a scientific research for us to reach a consensus on my later claim. Let's leave that for another day.

Is it guaranteed that a student who scored grade A will definitely perform better in a university course than the others who scored B's and also me with my E ? If they fail, who is to blame?

Will you blame the student, the university or the high school education ? And if those with lower grades perform better that them who entered with higher grades, whose degree is qualified than the other ?

Does the K.C.S.E grade A, B, C and E matter to you anymore? These are just questions running through my noble mind. Hopefully, answers are forthcoming.

In conclusion, I would like to know about your considerations towards revoking degrees as alluded.I did not perform well in High school so, may I ask you to explain to me like a small child. I will humbly listen since am planning to attain a degree in future.
