Children no longer safe with parents

Reports that a man and his wife in Kuresoi beat their 11-year-old daughter to death for attending a circumcision ceremony without permission are saddening.

To start with, it is unbelievable that parents can do that to their own child. That even after the minor started bleeding from her nostrils, her parents were unmoved. In fact, they went ahead and tied her hands and legs and beat her some more. In the end, an innocent life has been lost. My question is: What has become of this society?

Ideally, every child should feel safe when with their parents. However, it has become a paradox the same parents are the ones attacking their own children. There have also been many cases where parents defile their daughters. This is absurd. The worst part is that this is just one case that has been reported. It is my hope that stern action will be taken against the couple in the Kuresoi case to serve as an example to others.
