Residents of Ongata Rongai and Kiserian threaten to sue government over poor state of roads

Residents of Ongata Rongai and Kiserian are now contemplating court action to force the national and county governments to improve roads that are causing debilitating traffic jams.

We may have no other option but to seek the intervention of courts of law. It is not fair that we pay taxes and get almost nothing in return.

We are unhappy both levels of government have neglected us even as infrastructure falls apart and the traffic nightmare destroys the economy.

Poor roads not only waste valuable time but have also increased road carnage on the Rongai-Nairobi route as motorists break the rules in an attempt to beat traffic.

Living in Kiserian and Ongata Rongai has literally become a nightmare we we all hope we can wake up from as soon as possible.

We want Transport CS to intervene and ensure the single lane Magadi road is expanded to accommodate the growing population with increased economic activities.

Residents are worried that a fire or mass casualty incident during rush hour could be disastrous as there are no alternative entries and exits.

With one year to go to the next elections, we believe the county government still has a chance to redeem itself by focusing on the priority areas.
