Pollsters' silence is too loud

Opinion polls play an important role in Kenyan politics. But lately pollsters have been silent.

It has taken pollsters more than 10 years to gain acceptance, and be taken seriously, in the political field.

The role played by opinion polls in informing and shaping public perceptions cannot be wished away. Through them Government can change and people can know what others prefer. There have been very many areas of research which the pollsters would have taken advantage of such as the US elections.

The earlier the pollsters start releasing their results the better and that will be the basis of people trusting them. But each result has a margin of error. The American presidential race has left many with egg on their faces.
