ABABU NAMWAMBA; THE CROWN PRINCE OF KENYAN POLITICS

Hate or love him, there is no stopping the son of the Mulembe nation. That he is destined for the top seat in the land is only a matter of time. The charisma that lacks in Musalia Mudavadi, the political tact that Moses Wetangula lacks, the gift of gab that Jirongo sorely misses and political goodwill that Raila has lost were blessed upon the able general. That he is an able and loyal leader was proven in 2007 when at the heat of the moment, he was the only man standing against Kibaki…..while Raila’s other trusted lieutenants like James Orengo were overawed by state power and meekly swore by presidents name (Kibaki), The now leader of the Labour party was unbowed, a star was born

His steadfastness in demonstrating democratic ideals is unquestionable, that he decided to walk away from travesty that is ODM speaks volumes of the man’s ambition. What if Anyang Nyong’o had borrowed a leaf? What if James Orengo was steadfast in speaking for the downtrodden at the expense of a political dynasty? We can only imagine. We have two great leaders who among many others have destroyed their great political careers at the expense of Raila, Ababu refused to join the bandwagon, he knows his worth.

Labour party is now the talk of the town after the able general re-branded and took over its helm, this is testament of his ability. From an extensive tour of the western region, to the coast and now rift valley, it is clear he is loved by the masses and he resonates with the psyche of this great nation. His track record in fighting graft speaks loud and that is the reason he was hounded out of the PAC by cartels. Floods that were a common occurrence in his Budalangi constituency are a thing of the past thanks to his leadership.

That we can remember his tongue slip at the coast and not remember Kidero a senior figure in ODM say Uhuru will comfortably retain his seat speak volumes. Ababu is a man on a mission. Under him, the elusive western unity that has been mirage for eons will come to fruition. You can only ignore the general as he is fondly known at your own peril.
