OPINION: How William Ruto will reap from Peter Kenneth potential entry into 2022 presidential polls

In the recent weeks the media has been awash with the news of peter Kenneth’s entry into the Nairobi gubernatorial race, as well as his declaration of support to President Uhuru and Jubilee Party.

His announcement quickly generated into a debate, of whether Peter Kenneth is rejuvenating his political career in readiness for 2022, which will eventually culminate into him being central Kenya’s chosen one at the expense of William Ruto. Many pundits argue that he’s in the race not to win but maintain relevance.

The Kalenjin nation, feeling betrayed that one of the own might be sidelined come 2022, have put aside their political differences in order to fight a common enemy which might be a hindrance to one of their own usurping to the county’s top most seat.

Kalenjin legislators have been quick to dismiss the claims and have also come together to support their own. As such, William Ruto being the closest to the top most seat, the people will come together to support his bid, as has been common with the Kalenjin nation.
