Beggars can’t be choosers!

When it comes to African politicians, power isn’t everything but rather it is the only thing clearly seen by how they behave when year election approaches.

This is when you will see your leaders for the second time because maybe some have never even appeared in parliament or any public forums after you voted them. They will try to do anything as possible to exploit this opportunity to be closer to you than their families even if it means fulfilling your needs with money just because of that vote.

Money! Seriously? Is our life worth a price? If God has given us air for free which is the main thing that keeps us alive, who are we to be enticed by material possessions? Five years later  everything is the same the only difference is that maybe the leaders are worse than before then we  complain how our leaders are “bad” and we are the same people who casted our votes for those “beggars” because of money, do you think you are really doing justice to yourself?

How can an incompetent leader steal an election, change the constitution to become life leader, makes his brother and children ministers, run down education and health yet many people will continue every year to turn and cheer declaring that he is “the only one” and gift from God? Come on, these politicians are servants; they are supposed to be our servants not our Gods.

You and I are the ones who can stop these by casting our votes right and just as Barack Obama said if you think voting is a waste of time, then you should re-check your history.
