He said he supports the Jubilee party, meaning he is behind his Excellency the president Uhuru Kenyatta in his quest for re-election in August 2nd 2017.

In my view, a number of reasons informed Mr. Kenneth’s decision.

One; Jubilee on which the president will seek re-election has high chances of forming the next government; hence, his solitude may subject him to political limbo after next year’s election.

Two, after the exit of the president in 2022, the Kikuyu nation will be seeking to project one amongst them to carry on as heir of the community’s mantle.

Three, by coming out to beat the drum for his next course of political future, he is aware of other pretenders to Kikuyu throne, hence the earlier he does it the better.

Four, as a convert he should be near the authority. This way he is going to endear himself to supporters of president and by extension Jubilee party.

A sign of things to come was evident from two MCA’s from Nairobi who made their respective endorsements of the charismatic politician. The two county assembly members consider him as one who is going to cut the Gordian knot of inherent corruption in Nairobi County.

All said and done, the duo sees Mr. Kenneth as representing the change they yearn for in Nairobi. So, without belabouring the point, Mr. Kenneth is first among equals. However, the fundamental truth is that he is going to beat Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko, Water Cabinet secretary Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Dagoreti MP Denis Waweru and nominated MP Johnson Sakaja were the election to be held in Nairobi anytime soon.

Why am I saying this? For a start I factor experience vis-à-vis professionalism in his ability which is lacking in those angling for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

From my civilian point of view, this is why:-

Mr. Kenneth is a lawyer by profession, he is a banker by trade, worked at the highest level of the African Reinsurance Corporation, worked at Industrial Development Bank, years between 1996-2000, were most peaceful and orderly years of Kenyan football, and the man in-charge was Mr. Kenneth. During this time, he raised the profile of Kenya’s football from the political and football mess inherent in Kenyan football fraternity, and his predecessor the late Hon. Job Omino had left.

By so doing, football standards improved and the FIFA ranking to boot. For the first time, Kenya was ranked position 68 on FIFA rankings ahead of Wales currently an emerging soccer power house in Europe.

As an MP in the tenth parliament he was voted as the most transparent, and efficient manager of CDF for his Gatanga constituency, and emerged the best for two consecutive years in Kenya. No one among the would-be Nairobi competitors matches his track record.

Mr. Kenneth’s formal declaration to role ups his sleeves and dirty his hands politically provide a fertile ground for heightened political activity in both Nairobi and Central respectively. The real test for him is to shrink his Kenyan National Congress party and join Jubilee hegemony in Central and partly in Nairobi.
