The 2016 US Election
will decide Barack Obama's successor in the White House. The candidates will go
head to head on November 8, 2016, to become the 45th President of the United
States of America.
It’s no secret that
this election has the most unpopular candidates ever in US election. The
Republican candidate Donald Trump is crumpling under an avalanche of sexual
assault claims and recordings of him using vile language about women. He has
threatened to ban immigration to the USA from Islam dominated countries. Trump
an astute social media campaigner and a property tycoon has admitted that he
has evaded paying tax to the federal state for over 20 years calling himself as
being smart.
On the other hand
Hillary Clinton the Democrats presidential candidate is being viewed as an
epitome of the establishment. She carries with her the Clinton dynasty baggage
with Trump missing no chance to remind Americans about the Monica Lewinsky
affair that dogged Bill Clinton when he was at the White house. She is seen as
the establishment puppet, cold, an elitist, power hungry and a war monger. She
has also been accused of using a personal email for official communication when
she was the Secretary of State.
With the two
candidates it seems USA is in a melting point. Americans seem to be angered by
their political class. The United States' political culture served as a
model for others, one that was worthy of emulation and exported worldwide but
that’s not the case anymore.
Americans will be
voting holding their noses and whoever wins has a lot of work to do
