Online youth political cocoons are in every county. They are an amorphous body of like 12k, 20k or more members depending on how idle and dreamy the youth of that county are.

These online groups have one agenda –politics- which is always aligned to their tribesmen. Most of their time is spend showing staunch support to the political big pin of the county, quarreling and evicting members who have different political views from theirs. When they evict such members, they feel like a CEO after firing a wayward employee. You now see how they dream and have an exaggerated sense of importance.

Most of the group admins are "watu wa mkono" of politicians otherwise known as campaign agents. Politicians use them to gather some votes at the grassroots, and then pay them some pocket change. Due to illiteracy or semi illiteracy, many imagine this is a great honour. But we all know politicians don't care about them. That's why politicians will employ their cronies and leave them to continue yapping on social media. They can't even get tenders since needless to say; they live 10,000 metres below the poverty line.

But they learn nothing and forget nothing from their zero gains in politics. They maintain the groups, meet annually and continue wasting time on social media. They remain unemployed, partly because many are semi-illiterate, lack skills and have no vision for tomorrow.

In a dreamy tone, they ask how people from other counties own successful businesses in their county. Many drink cheap beer which they can't afford anyway. They swear of how they won't vote for politician X. In their dreams, they imagine they are the king makers and politicians are where they are courtesy of their idle rants online and offline.

If we want a country free of tribalism, these useless political forums lead by a bunch of hooligans should be banned. Also, the admins and their 20k plus members should be enticed about a big political event lead by their political god. Once they board buses, the buses should be driven into the wilderness, where they should be left to wonder for many years without food and water. They will give us sufficient time to build our nation.

Someone should tell them loud and clear that young people are getting skills, using social media to earn a living and getting over ignorant tribal political loyalties.
