Uhuru must leave city politics

As competition for Nairobi’s top post hots up, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been widely reported as urging Jubilee Party aspirants to work together to deliver the seat.

To make matters worse, he even named individuals who should work together to ensure Jubilee wins the seat.

I think the President lowered his status by talking on this matter. Each one of us is entitled to his or her views, anyway.

There are those who can never fault him under any circumstances. It is also not possible to direct the President on what he should discuss or not.

However, I think as “my” President, he should come across as an impartial leader and stand in a class of his own.

I feel he is dwelling on small matters at the wrong time. But I may be wrong. I am just wondering what has just become so special about the Nairobi Governor’s post. Having said that, there are other pertinent things that we would like the President to talk about but he opts not to.
