President Uhuru's foreign trips are bearing more fruits than expected

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s international trips have been at the center of controversies in the recent past. Though scolded by many-from an absentee’ President, tourist number one and waster of public funds, truth be said, President Uhuru’s foreign trips have brought more fruits, sweeter and better fruits than we expected. Though critics have noted that by August 2016, the President had made over 50 International trips and has spent about Sh2.6 billion to foreign trips, we should look at it different though.

People should understand that for development to take place in any given country, a sitting President must seek to attract the attention of the world and in my thinking he has done exactly that. Accosting him with all manner of names is uncalled for.

By virtue of Kenya being the only country in the southern hemisphere in the developing world to host a United Nations office, this therefore forms a basis of why the president should move around the World to promote investment opportunities and attract investors.

Indeed, Kenya has demonstrated to the World yet again its growing influence, strong friendships and partnerships with nation's right across the world. From being host of international conferences (recent being UNACTED to TICAD conferences) and attracting international leaders (recent being US President Obama, Pope Francis and Prime Minister of Israel), Kenya has also become a hotbed of World Interest.

As a matter of fact, Kenya also set to host the Africa Agricultural Forum on September 4th to 9th 2016. In November 28 to December 1, 2016, Kenya again will host the second high level meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation. Indeed, all this good things are a clear proof of Kenya's growing influence, strong friendships and partnerships with nation's right across the world. Kudos Mr. President.
