Let's all stand up against extra-judicial killings

The recent spate of extra-judicial killings is alarming. Those implicated should face the wrath of the law.

It is saddening when we lose innocent and educated Kenyans in cruel attacks.

We have heard lots of incidents where victims have been tortured and murdered. The worst part is that the perpetrators, who are taken to court, are released due to either lack of evidence or witnesses fear to testify.

If we want our country to be free from the extra-judicial killings, then justice must be upheld. Let justice be our shield and defender. It should defend every person in the country as our national anthem stipulates. Even the Bible in the book of Micah 6:8 requires us to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.

The Judiciary should be in the forefront in dispensing fairness to all. Judges and magistrates should know “justice delayed is justice denied”.

Let us all rise up and condemn extra-judicial killings. You never know whether the next minute it will be you or me.

We need to unmask the ruthless and worthless policemen who are bloodthirsty and are not discharging their duty with integrity and respect. Let us all fight for what we believe in.

In conclusion, I quote the last stanza of our National Anthem: “Let all with one accord, In common bond united, Build this our nation together, And the glory of Kenya, The fruit of our labour, Fill every heart with thanksgiving”.
